Classes available for groups or 1-on-1.
WordPress powers roughly 40% of the sites on the web. It is an amazing tool to help you design and manage your content but it can be daunting to learn until you learn to “think like the program”. This class hand’s class allows participants to build or working on existing sites as we go along. You’ll learn the pros and cons of using the self-hosted version of WordPress vs. the online WordPress.com version. You’ll learn how to choose and register a domain name, how to choose a hosting provider, how to install WordPress onto your self-hosting server and begin to explore a theme or look for your site.
We’ll then move into learning how to navigate the options on the WordPress Dashboard including adding and editing posts, pages, menus, images, video and audio. We’ll also cover: categories and tags, and customization.
Prerequisite: Basic computer and Internet skills.
