The Connected Communities Academy is an new technology training center in Nevada City, California. As an initiative of the Nevada County Economic Resources Council, it is supported by a consortium of businesses, organizations, governmental agencies and individuals all interested in improving the economic vitality of the region through high tech training and and career mentoring.
I wear both my graphic design and collaboration hats for the Academy. As Project Manager, I work to create awareness among community partner agencies and businesses so that they are able to educate and guide their clients and/or employees on industry needs, career pathways and courses available at the Academy. I am also responsible for creating an organizational brand and maintaining it across all print and online media.
My involvement in launching the Academy, was an outgrowth of 18 months work participating on a variety of committees of the Nevada County Economic Resources Council. As an active member of the Marketing committee as well as the Talent Connection and Milestone 5 Task Forces, our job was to address the technology and talent pipeline development needs for K-16 students as well as adult learners. CCA is an outgrowth of that work.
