The Nike Zoom Kobe 1 Protro MPLS made a surprise release at select Nike retailers, but a wider drop is now revealed for next week. This pair celebrates a classic style with the 2006 Nike Zoom Kobe 1 MPLS colorway, and it’s applied on the update version of Kobe Bryan’t first signature shoe. Also, it’s a nod to the Detroit Gems franchise which would then become the Lakers. The team moved to Minneapolis in 1947, and its name was changed to the Lakers to reflect the Minnesota state nickname, “Land of 10,000 Lakes.” A mixture of grey, university blue and white are basically coated on the sneaker to complete the theme.
Retailing for $175, look for the Nike Zoom Kobe 1 Protro MPLS at select Nike stores and online on July 10. Always keep it locked to KicksOnFire for the latest in sneaker news, release dates and where to purchase your favorite kicks.
