I was the Program Director for PACE (Personal And Community Enrichment) a Continuing Education program providing performing arts events, special programs and non-credit classes. My responsibilities fell into four mail arenas:
- Performing Arts Presenting: Founded and managed Global Rhythms, an annual 12 event series specializing in international music and dance from folk traditions to contemporary expressions. Worked in partnership with statewide arts organizations on block booking and grant writing. Collaborated with local organizations on fund raising, co-sponsorships and outreach activities.
- Special Program Development: Co-created Cybercamp, a summer youth program integrating arts and technology. Created ArtTech Maui, a conference to explore the interface of art and technology and it’s application to job growth on Maui. Assisted with the creation of USC-on-Maui, a program to bring top notch film production and animation classes to Maui.
- Class Programming: Created and coordinated over 200 non-credit courses per year in the areas of art, culture, music, dance, health, and personal development. Included: conducting needs assessment; planning a balanced program; hiring and managing instructors and staff; assisting instructors with curriculum development; writing promotional materials; marketing; fiscal analysis; and program evaluation.
- Marketing: I was tasked with creating a Brand for the entire Continuing Education department at the college as well as consulting on the college’s overall brand. It was my job to maintain that brand across all print media including producing a 65-page catalogue, four times a year. I was also responsible for marketing all aspects of PACE including performing arts events, classes, and special programs.
